What is Biltong?

Biltong is a South African recipe beef snack with exceptional flavor and a uniquely tender texture. We start with the finest quality cuts of Grass-Fed Beef that are marinated and seasoned with only a few natural spices, then air-dried for up fourteen days! The result is a tender slice of beef with a naturally explosive flavor. The drying process also leaves more of the muscle fibers intact, meaning Ayoba Biltong has more protein than jerky!

What Makes Our Biltong Different:

No Sugar & Zero Bad Stuff

Unlike most store bought jerky, we do not add ANY nitrates, MSG, fillers, artificial flavors or artificial preservatives and most importantly, NO SUGAR!

Air Dried for Up To 14 Days!

Our unique drying process, using air flow instead of heat, leaves the beef naturally tender, so we do not need to use any sugar or chemicals!

Protein Packed

Due to the unique drying process, Ayoba's Biltong contains 30% more protein than the leading beef jerky! (16g per ounce, wow!)

Keto, Paleo & Whole30!

FAQs

How do you eat Biltong?
That's the great thing about Biltong, it's premium enough for the fanciest cheeseboard, yet portable enough as an on-the-go protein snack, makes the perfect side kick to your favorite craft beer, and even works great as an ingredient in some of your favorite recipes! Try adding it to salads, sandwiches, on pizza, and more!
- +
What does Biltong taste like compared to jerky?
Imagine telling the Iron Chef that you want your steak overcooked and soaked in teriyaki, that's jerky. Instead, like a steakhouse favorite, Ayoba Biltong is an easy chew with BOLD BEEF FLAVOR. It's Grass Fed Beef, seasoned with natural spices, that's it.
- +
Why is Biltong more expensive than jerky?
You're paying for quality. Biltong takes longer to dry, jerky only takes 6 hours, our Biltong takes up to 14 days...as they say, all good things come with time. Biltong also loses more than half of it's weight in the drying process, meaning we need more beef for an ounce of Biltong than jerky would use, but at the same time we retain more of the muscle fibers, meaning more protein! The end result is a more tender beef snack without the use of sugar or chemicals. Well worth it if you ask us...
- +
What makes Ayoba Biltong different from other biltong?
Here at Ayoba, we use only the most premium ingredients we can find, and our own authentic South African Family Recipe! We use Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Beef. Some companies will use beef from cows that are only fed grass for a small portion of their life and then still call it Grass-Fed, we've got beef with that. We cut no corners, only Biltong. We ensure all of our ingredients and suppliers are certified through rigorous inspection with the Paleo Foundation for our Paleo & Keto Certification, with Whole30, and the USDA.

Super Impressed!

I've tried lots of different brands of biltong, but I absolutely love Ayoba. Some other brands of biltong are dry and flaky, some are hard and tough, but Ayoba is tender and delicious. I am fan for life.
